Arctostaphylos glauca 'Canyon Blush' - Hybrid Big Berry Manzanita

Description

A volunteer hybrid selected by Dara Emery at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden sometime during his 35 year tenure.  This mid-size shrub has a fairly open habit with blue-green foliage and gorgeous new coral growth in spring (which gives it it's name).  'Canyon Blush' can be pruned upwards so that there is an open trunk/branching at the bottom, or can be left to spread in a more horizontal habit, in which case it may become quite wide.  It's gorgeous coloring and wild habit make it an exciting and dynamic choice for the dry garden!
