Grindelia nana - Idaho Gumweed

Description

A Gumweed from the northeastern part of our state.  This plant has an upright growth habit, usually growing between 6"-2' tall.  Flowers are the yellow composite disk-ray typical of the Aster family- very cheerful and a favorite of pollinators.  Blooms June-September.  The bracts of this flower emit a milky resin or "gum" for which it got its name.  This would be a nice little plant worked into a meadow... it brings a wild and natural vibe to the party, but above all else its value is for pollinators.
