Description
A dense and low-growing coastal selection of E. lanatum from Horseshoe Cove in Sonoma County. Stays under a foot tall and spreads two to three feet. Foliage on this perennial is crinkly and green- a profusion of little bright yellow flowers sit atop it from May to August. Would love full sun on the coast, and full to partial sun inland with a bit of summer water. May not withstand the hottest and driest parts of an inland garden. Any disk-ray flower with a landing pad where insects can sit comfortably and eat their fill is going to be a great addition to a pollinator garden, and this plant definitely fits that bill. Big attractor of butterflies and bees, and also a larval food source for many little moths. Moths are important too!
