Description

This short selection of Elymus triticoides was made by John Greenlee in the 90's and grows around foot tall.  Selected from a location north of Santa Cruz, it's size, growth habit, and verdant green color make it a stellar grass for a garden meadow or lawn replacement.  Mowable, if desired.  This grass is sod-forming, making it great for stabilizing slopes.  Drought tolerant once established, it will require a couple of summer waterings which will keep it looking greener longer.  Abundant irrigation may make it overzealous.  Rarely flowers, and thus, will not reseed so that height remains consistent throughout the "turf".
