Mimulus 'Alexandra' - Hybrid Monkeyflower

I'm charmed by this adorable monkeyflower hybrid 'Alexandra'!  I'll eat my hat if this introduction doesn't involve Mimulus rutilus, flowers are a deep tomato red with golden-orange margins against deep green foliage.  In the case of Mimulus it seems the goal of most growers is to get the biggest flower possible, but this specimen proves that bigger isn't alway better!  An enchanting proliferation of little flowers cover this 3' x 3' perennial all spring- and well into the end of summer with a little deadheading and supplemental water.  Deer resistant, larval food source for checkerspot butterflies, and a total hummingbird magnet!
