Description
Another beautiful selection of low growing blueblossom. This plant has broad, glossy, deep green leaves and an exceptional delicate light blue flower. It will grow to about 2-3' tall and 6' wide. While not completely prostrate, it makes a great spreading groundcover (though not suitable for foot traffic) and would be perfect on a coastal slope. It is named for Ken Taylor- famed nurseryman of Taylor's Nursery, as it was growing in his garden in Aromas, CA. It is said that he aquired the plant from Louis Edmunds- other famed nurseryman of Louis Edmunds Native Plant Nursery in Danville. Introduced in 1981 by the Saratoga Horticultural Research Foundation, it makes a very attractive addition to the garden, taking full sun with no supplemental water by the coast, but prefering a few summer waterings inland. Would be suitable around the dripline of an oak, where it recieved dappled sun.
