Adiantum pedatum - Northern Maidenhair Fern

Description

Native to the eastern half of North America, our native A. aleuticum used to be lumped in with this species.  Gone are those days, so we've labeled it an "exotic" fern.  Very similar in look to our native fern, but this one seems to grow a little bit larger.  Great specimen for a moist shady spot in the garden or in a pot.  Usually grows between 1-2.5' high and wide.  Prefers a loamy acidic soil.
