Salvia 'Kaleidoscope' - Hybrid Sage

Salvia 'Kaleidoscope' is a recent introduction, and a beautiful one at that!  It's a hybrid involving Salvia clevelandii... and that is all we know, but it is compact only reaching 2-3' and spreading to about 4'.  The flower is typical of our native sages, but more of a true purple than the pastel blue-violet that's commonly seen.  This really purple flower spike sits atop a mound of grey foliage.  Striking combination which would be beautiful paired with other blue flowered Salvias, or perhaps some yellow flowered Mimulus?  Grey foliage will stand out against greens or create a more subtle gradiant with other greys.  Drought tolerant and sun loving- like it's parents!
