Description
Not to be confused with A. montaraensis! This stunning manzanita is endemic to a small range in Monterey County. Rare and beautiful with clusters of pink flowers on pink pedicels making a lovely contrast to bright green foliage. Think of it as a mounding shrub 5' x 6', though with age it can eventually lift up into a small tree. We have found, unsurprisingly, that it grows well near the coast where some other manzanitas can succumb to fungal problems- this one does not. Can bloom from November all the way into February! Will want full sun to light shade- adaptable to many conditions, but will likely need pretty good drainage.
