Aster chilensis 'Purple Haze' - Purple Haze California Aster

Description

A selection of the California aster with lovely light purple flowers.  This plant is a fast spreader, so just be prepared to give it space- great in a meadow planting.  Remains a low mat of green until late summer, when it sends up roughly 2' stalks holding clusters of ethereal little purple daisies.  Flowers will stay until September, which makes it a real favorite for pollinators and a great habitat plant as not much else is blooming that late in the year.  Great when paired with other late bloomers such as Solidago californica and Epilobium canum.
