Phyla nodiflora is the answer to the question of walkable, drought tolerant groundcover. Dog tolerant and tough enough to withstand occasional foot traffic, this plant spreads over time to form a pleasant, 2 inch tall mat. Plant on two foot centers and provide a short border to keep it from spreading. Flowering from spring into fall, it will attract many bees and butterflies, so watch your step. Adaptable to a range of soil types, and prefers sun.
