Festuca rubra 'Patrick's Point' - Creeping Fescue

Description

A pretty silvery-blue selection of a native Fescue made from Patrick's Point in coastal Humboldt County. It's a low, spreading bunch grass, ideal for a native meadow or planting between perennials. Rises to 1' and spreads 2' or so. This grass really would like to be planted in full sun by the coast or in part sun inland.  Will not tolerate very hot afternoon sun.  Once the summer months arive this grass will need a bit of water to keep it from becoming brown.  You decide how lush you want to keep it looking.  Pairs well with low-growing Arctostaphylos or Ceanothus, seaside daisy, Iris douglasiana, and could work very well as an underplanting to a small tree.
