Heuchera 'Canyon Duet' - Canyon Duet Heuchera

Another cross in the popular 'Canyon Series' of Heuchera introduced by Dara Emery at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, these "half native" hybrids make a nice splash in a shady corner of the garden.  'Canyon Duet' is a cross between Heuchera elegans and another hybrid in the series, 'Canyon Delight' (which is itself a cross between H. elegans and H. sanguinea), and was introduced in 2001.  An evergreen perennial of diminutive stature, rosettes of deep green round, lobed leaves form a clump reaching as many as three inches high, and perhaps a foot wide if you're lucky!  Stunning stalks clustered with tiny, two-toned pink and white flowers (this is where the duet part of the name comes from) sit about a foot atop the foliage.  Perfect for a shady, rocky spot, and excellent material for a fairy garden.
