Verbena lasiostachys - Common Verbena

Description

This tall species of Verbena grows in moist locations throughout the state. Green stalks are topped with wands of tiny lavender flowers in Summer. Good at the edge of a lawn or water feature where its roots will have access to moisture. Dies back in winter, to return in spring with more flower stalks. Butterflies like this plant!
