Description

A 'fossil native', the Dawn Redwood once grew in abundance throughout North America millions of years ago. Its current range in the wild is limited to a remote area of China. Nonetheless it thrives in modern California's climate, and is a beautiful tree, with a reddish, gnarled trunk and soft apple green foliage that turns a cinnamon brown before falling in autumn. Provide sun or light shade, and water occasionally in summer.
