Grindelia hirsutula - Gum Plant

Description

Native to dry grasslands, this species of Gum Plant is a tough, long blooming perennial for a dry sunny border or steep hillside. Sticky buds which give this plant its common name blossom into bright yellow flowers which attract a wide variety of beneficial insects. Will bloom April-July in a dry spot; a little water should extend the bloom into early fall.
