Description

This charming native from the central and southern California foothills can lend vivid color to your garden in the fall, when few other plants are in flower. It is also an important late summer source of food for hummingbirds, flowering after many nectar sources are long gone. Grows to approximately 1' tall and 3' wide. This selection has particularly narrow leaves, contrasting nicely with its bright red flowers. Plant in full sun, give occasional summer water. Use in informal gardens, slopes, or an expansive rock garden. Cut back hard in winter for a bushier plant.
