Ceanothus 'Far Horizons' - 'Far Horizons' Wild Lilac

'Far Horizons' Wild Lilac is a beautiful mid-sized Ceanothus, with an attractive arching habit. It is a selection made by Dara Emery, the first horticulturalist at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and author of "Seed Propagation of Native California Plants." One of the earlier blooming Ceanothus, clear blue flowers cover the plant in late February into Spring. Known for it's shade tolerance, this shrub is adaptable to full sun or partial shade. Some sources say to be cautious of planting this selection in full sun in hot locations, but I've found that it has tolerated life very well in one of the dryest and hottest parts of my garden! A wonderfully versatile plant!
