Description
An easy to grow Aster native to coastal scrub and chaparral Los Angeles down into Sonora and Baja. Yellow sunflower-esque disk/ray flowers sit atop bright green mounding foliage. Leaves are lanceolate and resinous. This plant wants full sun and is extremely drought tolerant, likes to be planted on a slope or somewhere with decent drainage. Totally deer resistant and wonderful for pollinators. Not exactly a staple of the Northern Californian garden... but would be great somewhere hot and dry that doesn't need much tending to.
