Description
This fast growing, showy Salvia is well placed on a sunny slope or among other large, drought tolerant shrubs. Bright green foliage is topped with lovely lavender flowers in spring, to the delight of bees, hummingbirds, and gardeners. Provide this sage with plenty of sun, and little or no water. Fairly clay tolerant, it is also very deer resistant. One of the nicest 'blues' of any native sage. Named for Mary Katharine Brandegee- the curator of botany at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco from 1883 to 1893 and an avid field botanist.
