Description
This low growing selection of California Buckwheat hails from the Theodore Payne Foundation in Southern California. It is tough as nails, deer resistant, fast growing spreader, making it a great plant for covering a hot dry hillside. Dark green foliage similar to Rosemary forms a tight mat, with delicate clusters of blush pink-white flowers appearing in mid-spring. Good combined with other drought tolerant sun lovers, like Sagebrush, Salvias, and Brittlebush. Grows to about 1’ high and can get up to 8’ wide (but can be pruned in).
