Description

Western Fescue is native to open woodlands throughout much of North America. This pretty, bright green form was selected by David Fross near the Mokelumne River. The foliage will form a mound about 2 by 2 feet, with the graceful flowers rising another foot above the foliage. A nice grass to use in the woodland garden, it does well in dappled shade with only occasional water, making a good choice for planting under oaks. Combines well with Iris, Wood Fern, and Island Alum Root.
