Koeleria macrantha - June Grass

Description

June Grass is a pretty, compact bunch grass with showy greenish gold flowering stalks that rise to about 3 feet. The narrow foliage will form a loose tuft about a foot tall and wide. Quite adaptable, it will thrive in sun or light shade, and takes drought or regular water, as long as the drainage is ok. Like many of our smaller native grasses, it is best appreciated in a drift of several grasses. Nice mixed with some of our smaller blue flowered plants, like Blue Flax, Baby Blue Eyes, and Douglas Iris.
