Delphinium uliginosum - Bog Larkspur

Description

This uncommon Delphinium grows in wet heavy soil, near streams or swamps in serpentine areas; chaparral and foothill woodlands along the inner North Coast Ranges in Napa, Lake and Colusa Cos. From May-June, 2-3 foot stalks bear flowers with rich blue sepals, whitish upper petals and violet lower petals. In your garden, these should be seasonally wet, but allowed to dry in the Summer months.
