Description

This perennial Plantain grows along the length of the California coast, inhabiting bluffs, marshes and wet meadows. The pink veined leaves are attractively arranged in a low-growing rosette. Flowering stems are up to 1 foot tall and abundant with seed. In your garden provide a sunny situation with some additional water during the dry summer months. This plant is a larval food source for Checkerspot butterflies.
