Solidago spathulata spathulata ssp. - Coast Goldenrod

Description

This perennial Goldenrod grows along the north and central coasts of California on Dunes and Headlands. It is a companion of Seaside Daisy, Coast Buckwheat, Dudleya, Checkerbloom and Blue-eyed grass. Dark green leaves contrast nicely with yellow wand-like inflorescenses. In your garden give it a sunny situation with occasional water during the dry months. Expect to see lots of insect visitors who will appreciate the pollen and nectar in late summer and early fall.
