Description

The Chaparral Currant is a highly drought tolerant shrub. A member of chaparral and oak woodland communities, it is well placed in full sun or the partial shade of oaks. The racemes of white and pink flowers open in late winter. Humming birds are frequent winter visitors. It will prefer a well-drained soil and only moderate irrigation once established. Expect a mature height of 6 to 8 feet and an erect habit. It is hardy to 15 degrees F.
