Silene verecunda platyota ssp. - Campion

Description

This Campion is found locally growing in sandy soils of chaparral communities, often in association with Pinus attenuata and P. ponderosa (Central Santa Cruz County). Its range is much broader, occuring from the North Coast Ranges, Central and southern Sierra Nevada, through the South Coast Ranges to Baja at elevations between 300 and 3400m. In your garden provide a well-drained site and some supplemental irrigation during the warm months.
