Angelicas are large perennial plants with stout taproots, pinnately compound leaves which are often more than a foot long and large umbells of showy elegant white flowers. A. hendersonii is ideal for the coastal garden. In nature it is found on coastal bluffs and scrub from sea level to 100 m, ranging from the central coast of California to Washington state. In your garden give it a sunny, well-drained site.
