Description

Dryopteris filix-mas is a widely distributed fern with a large variation in form. It grows in Europe, Asia, and Central and North America. This cultivar of the Male Fern is distinguished by its slender fornds which end in long divergent crests. It does well in a semi-shaded situation, in a neutral to acid soil, rich inhumus. Plants cease growth in autumn and may become competely deciduous before porducing a vigorous flush of new fronds in spring.
