Phacelia distans - Catepillar Flower

Description

Most Phacelias resemble wooly caperpillars when in bud. This genus is represented by over 80 species in California. This is commonly found in the Bay Area in clay or rocky soils and on slopes in full sun. The delicate fernlike foliage will sport white flowers.
