Spirea douglasii - Steeple Bush

Description

This member of the Rosaceae family can be found in moist areas and coniferous forests from Northern California into Canada. Its habit is a bit sprawling to 4 feet tall with wandering roots that form a thicket with time. Rose to pink colored flowers are excellent in a vase. The season of bloom is summer. Give this shrub partial shade and an occasional deep watering in the warm months.
