Calochortus albus rubellus var. - Pink Fairy Lantern

Description

One of the loveliest spring flowers, Fairy Lanterns can be found on shady slopes and roadcuts around the Bay Area and beyond. The blue-green flowering stalk emerges in winter, and will eventually rise to 2 feet or so, bearing several nodding, pinkish white lantern shaped flowers. Our bulbs are several years old and should flower this year, but will probably take another few years to attain their ultimate size. Provide light shade, good drainage, protection from gophers, and, please, No Summer Water, or they'll rot. 3 bulbs per pot.
