This native of Africa is probably the most commonly grown Selaginella in the world. It is valued for its hardiness, adaptability and the dense mat of verdant green foliage that it forms. Likes shade and grows very rapidly. A useful groundcover under benches in a greenhouse or a container plant indoors. When in a pot, Selaginellas prefer their soil MOIST-WET.
