Iris 'Montara' - PCH-Iris

Description

Another PCH Iris hybridized by the prolific Joe Ghio of Bay View Gardens.  He named many of his hybrids after California towns, and this one got the name Montara, but not because of the provenance of the source material.  Introduced in 1984.  This flower is stunning- falls with deep maroon signals against a creamy yellow background, and standards of creamy yellow with a bit of maroon veining.  Petal margins have a bit lilac of a lilac tint to them.  The warm tones and ombre effect make this a very fun and unique Iris which stands out beautifully against it's deep green foliage.  Our stock is long gone, but if we ever find it again we will certainly grow it.
