Description

Similar in habit to the more commonly known California poppy, the Tufted poppy has more delicate, wispy foliage and a slightly smaller blossom of a pure lemon yellow. The pastel hue of this flower is a perfect foil for some of our more intensely colored natives, particularly those with blue tones such as Gilia, Lupines, Blue Eyed Grass, and Iris. Drought tolerant, although it will bloom much longer with supplemental water. Plant in full to 3/4 sun. The Tufted Poppy is native to California's Central Valley.
