Description

The Wood Rose is a dense shrub to three feet or more. It occurs commonly on moist wooded slopes and along shaded stream banks from Monterey County north in the Coast Ranges to Humbolt and Siskiyou counties. The flower is small, dark pink and sweet smelling. Give it good drainage and occasional water. Produces nutrient rich, red-orange rose hips that are beloved by birds.
