Description

A selection of the Coast Redwood with "...light green foliage, a soft texture, branches pointing slightly down." (SUNSET) Native from Curry Co. Oregon, south to Monterey Co. in California. The Coast Redwood never grows far from the sea and its attendant summer fog. Plant in sun to half-shade with regular water. Very fast growing, as much as six feet a year. In the garden, can grow 60'to 80' or more. If you have a hot, inland site, you may want to plant S. giganteum.
