Description

A selection of the Coast Redwood with "...deep green foliage of heavy texture on horizontal arching branches." (SUNSET). Native from Curry Co. in Oregon to Monterey Co. in California. The Coast Redwood never grows far fron the sea and it's attendant summer fog. Plant in sun to part-shade and give plenty of water. Very fast growing, as much as six feet a year. In the garden these trees will grow 60' to 80', sometimes more. If your site is farther inland than the Bay Area, you may want to plant S. giganteum.
