Quercus wislizenii - Interior Live Oak

Description

Evergreen, 30 to 70' tall and wide-spreading forming a dense crown. Native to the lower slopes of the Sierras and Inner coast ranges. This species is the most tolerant of shade of the the California oaks. The leaves are variable; either smooth or spiny edged. Plant in either sun or shade in well-drained soil where it will receive no summer water once established.
