Prunus lyonii - Use: Prunus ilicifolia ssp. lyonii

Description

A drought tolerant tree or large shrub for full sun with dark green leaves, dense habit, and neat appearance. The Catalina Cherry grows moderately to as much as 50' with age and makes an excellent large screen or hedge. Found in the chaparral on the Channel Islands. It is not particular as to soil type but requires good drainage.
