Description

This rare species grows only in a small area of coastal San Diego County and the north Channel Island of Santa Rosa. Although native habitat is restricted this tree does well inland, even in high desert conditions, with temperatures as low as 12 degrees F. Grows well in most soils and best with full sun. Drought tolerant, but better with light irrigation. Growth 40'-60'with divided trunk. Note: do not prune, as cut branches die back to trunk.
