Physocarpus capitatus - Pacific Ninebark

Description

A large leafy green shrub that likes some shade and occasional water. It decorates itself with a smattering of dense white heads of tiny flowers in the spring followed by inflated seed pods occasionally tinged in red. Ninebark can be seen in the coast ranges from Santa Barbara north on shady banks and along creeks.
