Festuca rubra - Red Fescue

Description

This intensely blue-gray form of Red Fescue was selected by Roger Raiche of the UCB Botanic garden. It grows well in shade with a minimum of water. We have not tried it in sun but it should do equally well with additional water. This is one of the smaller of our locally native grasses reaching about 1' high and 2' wide. It is a beautiful accent among dark green shade plants, or a lovely addition to the gray garden.
