Elymus mollis - Dune Grass

Description

This is an unusual perennial grass, with it's coarse bluish blades. It makes quite a statement in the landscape, being 3 feet tall. This plant grows in the coastal strand community, from Monterey County north to Alaska. The cultural requirements are good drainage, and low irrigation. Useful as an accent plant and a soil stabilizer. It can be invasive.
