Elymus californicus - Bottlebrush Grass

Description

Must be seen in the ground to be appreciated. One of our most graceful, striking grasses in flower. It is also a rather uncommon plant, occurring from Santa Cruz to Sonoma County. It grows in dappled shade at edges of woodlands, and needs only occasional water. Grows to a height of 3 ft.
