Description

The Island Shooting Star (from the Channel Islands) is the largest flowered of our native Dodecatheons. In early spring it sends up multiple stalks, adorned by several flowers with bands of lilac, white, and yellow. Water can be withheld after flowering, though continued irrigation in a well-drained site is not detrimental. After seed is set, plants go dormant to return next spring. Plant in light shade. Makes an excellent container subject.
