Calamagrostis purpurescens - Purple Reed Grass

Description

This one foot perennial bunchgrass has an unusual purple tinge to its blades, making it a nice accent plant in the garden. It grows in rocky places in subalpine, and alpine, sandy soils. It is both cold hardy and drought tolerant.
