Description

The Mohave penstemon is a large perennial with erect stems that grow from 2-4 feet tall. The flower, which appears from March to May, is very showy. It has a somewhat inflated rose-purple corolla with strong lines, set off by attractive deep green leaves. It is native to sandy washes in the desert mountains of southern California. Plant in full sun with minimal water for best results. It is not long-lived but will reseed.
