Polypodium formosanum - Caterpillar Fern

Description

This fern is prized for it's pendant one to two foot bright green fronds, and creeping lime-green rhizomes. Caterpillar Fern is found growing on trees in temperate to subtropical climates in Japan, Taiwan, and southern China, making it an excellant subject for a hanging basket. It re- quires high humidity, and makes a slow recovery after being disturbed. In a pot, this fern prefers its soil MOIST.
